Welcome to the 3 Year Olds-Kindergarten Page! 

Preschool-Kindergarten Services are offered during our
Sunday Church Service at 10:00 am.

 

What To Expect:  Your 3 year old through kindergartners will be lovingly greeted in a surrounding designed to make them feel welcomed and encouraged to have lots of fun! Your kids will enjoy an exciting multi-media program that will teach them about their loving and amazing God. Strict safety measures are taken to provide your child with the best care possible. Each of our SURF’S UP leaders have been through an orientation process, have been screened to work with your child, and participates in on-going training.

What To Bring:
In the event that your child is potty-training please bring:
-a change of clothes…just in case
Please label all personal items with your child’s first and last name before arriving at your child’s class. This helps us keep track of your child’s items.***

***We strongly encourage you to have your child leave all personal toys at home or in your car. We have plenty of fun things for them to do and this way their special toys will not get lost or damaged.

Your Child’s Health: 
We operate a well-child program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the program while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our SURF’S UP program a healthy place for all.

When You Arrive At The 3 Year Old-Kindergarten Area:
A leader will meet you at the check-in table to greet you and your child. Please check in and note any information that will help in caring for your child such as allergies and special needs. If it is your child’s first time at SURF’S UP, you will be asked to fill out a short registration form.

At the time of check-in, a leader will apply an adhesive name tag to your child with his or her name on it. Your child will be assigned a number and a matching tag will be given to you. For security reasons you must present the tag to receive your child…in this way we are able to safety match children with their proper care-taker.

Snacks:
Snacks are available for children after the church services in the courtyard at the front of the church (same as the adults).

Curriculum:
3 year olds through kindergarteners are at ages where they really begin understanding a lot about their great and mighty God. We use a very exciting multi-media curriculum that will get your child enthusiastic about coming to church and learning about God. Each week your child starts out by watching and interacting with a DVD program that includes fun, kid-friendly songs, a story from the Bible, and a skit that helps illustrate the main point for the week. The kids then go into their small group time where SURF’S UP leaders are able to build relationships with the children and offer activities, games, and/or crafts that further enforce the weekly point. At the end, time permitting, kids are allowed to have fun with each other and build friendships by playing with fun, age-appropriate toys.

Saying Good-Bye:  After you have completed the check-in process, simply give a hug to your child, wave a quick good-bye and leave for the church service. As you know, it is normal for some children to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders are trained to handle this and will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the church service is completed.

Checking On Your Child:
Feel free to check on your child at any time during the church service. However, we ask that you do so discreetly.

Pick-up Procedures:
After lots of high-fives, your child’s leader will release your child to an adult who returns with the numbered security badge that you were given at check-in. Make sure your child has all of their “projects” they completed during the church service. We will look forward to seeing you the following week!
